Orsino Orsini Migliorati (1473-1500) was a member of the House of Orsini and the husband of Giulia Farnese, the mistress of Pope Alexander VI.
Biography[]
Orsino Orsini was born in 1473, and his mother was Rodrigo Borgia's cousin. At age 16, he married Giulia Farnese, and Orsini was known as "squint-eyed", "awkward", and "self-conscious", while Farnese was beautiful. In 1491, Cardinal Borgia began a love affair with Farnese, taking her as his mistress; in return for Orsini's enforced compliance with her infidelity, Borgia granted him the mayorship of Carbognano. Orsini died of unknown causes in 1500.
