Orlando Bosch (18 August 1926-27 April 2011) was a founder and the leader of the Coordination of United Revolutionary Organizations (CORU).
Biography[]
Orlando Bosch was born on 18 August 1926 near Havana, Cuba, and he joined the underground cells that assisted Fidel Castro in the Cuban Revolution in the 1950s. Bosch later became an enemy of Castro and was helped by the United States' CIA in his war against Castro's communist regime, joining the Coordination of United Revolutionary Organizations and using postal bombs to attack four Cuban embassies. In 1976, he was the man behind the bombing of Cubana Flight 455, was one of the men who was responsible for assassinating Orlando Letelier in Washington DC, and in 1977 he bombed the Mackey Airlines offices after they planned to resume flights to Cuba. In 1990, President George H.W. Bush of the United States gave him a safe haven, and he died in 2011.
