Order of the Ancients

The Order of the Ancients was a religious secretive society of the ancient Middle East and Levant which was founded in Egypt in 1334 BC by Pharaoh Smenkhkare. The Order revered three divine beings, the Father of Understanding, the Mother of Wisdom and the Sacred Voice. Most of their beliefs were heavily influenced by Gnostic texts before the Nicene Creed.

The Order sought to use the relics of the ancient gods to promote peace and progress for mankind under their ordered rule, and their influence went on to expand into Persia, where they influenced rulers such as Darius I and Xerxes I. During the late Ptolemaic dynasty, the Order exploited the young Pharaoh Ptolemy XIII as their puppet, and, after Ptolemy's death at the Battle of the Nile in 47 BC, the Order shifted its support to Cleopatra and Julius Caesar, allowing for their influence to spread into the Roman Republic. In 47 BC, Bayek and Amunet founded the Hidden Ones to combat the Order's influence, assassinating several of their key leaders and allies.
