Operation True Promise II occurred on 1 October 2024 when Iran launched several ballistic missiles at Israel in retaliation for its assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and its ground invasion of Lebanon.

Iran fired over 200 missiles from Tabriz, Kashan, and the outskirts of Tehran, with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei ordering the strikes from a secure location. The first wave of the strikes killed a Palestinian laborer and injured two Israeli civilians, plus Palestinian civilians in Jericho who were harmed by rocket fragments. Jordan and the United States helped Israel shoot down several of the missiles, and the USA promised additional defensive support to Israel in the aftermath of the strikes. Likewise, the Iranian government warned Israel against responding, promising "crushing attacks" in that event.
