Operation Doubletap (18-23 June 1969) was an American military operation of the Vietnam War that saw a force of around 150 MACV-SOG troops clear a South Vietnamese forest of Viet Cong guerrillas. The Americans advanced through a small village and into the brook in the center of the sector, battling the Viet Cong in the wartorn jungle and killing several of their commanders, the targets of the operation. The Americans succeeded in wiping out the Viet Cong leadership and securing the sector, making the operation a success.
