Operation Bargain was a military operation launched by the US Army to clear the Kandahar marketplace of Taliban militants during the Afghanistan War. The marketplace, located in the north of the city, became the scene of a heated battle in its narrow alleys and market stands as Coalition soldiers attempted to wipe out the insurgent forces in the area. The operation saw the Taliban engage the Americans in fierce urban combat, and the Americans were ultimately able to clear the area of the Taliban through close-quarters fighting and close air support.
