Open Sky (died 1876) was a Sioux war chief.
Biography[]
Open Sky was born in the Black Hills region of The Dakotas, and he fought against the United States as it attempted to establish mining camps in the region during the Black Hills gold rush of 1876. Open Sky was killed when US Army troops attacked his village to defend their gold mines, as was chief Coughing Clown at his village.
