Onondaga

The Onondaga are one of the five original constituents of the Iroquois confederacy in northeast North America. Their traditional homeland is around Onondaga County, New York, south of Lake Ontario, and they are bordered by the Cayuga and Seneca to the west and the Oneida and Mohawk to the east. During the American Revolutionary War, the Onondaga sided with the British, and, after the United States gained its independence, many Onondaga followed Joseph Brant's Mohawk people to Canada.
