Olsan Koca (16 March 1872-2 February 1921) was a journalist and writer from the Ottoman Empire.
Biography[]
Olsan Koca was born on 16 March 1872 in Sivas, Turkey, Ottoman Empire to a Sunni Muslim family of Turks. Koca became a journalist, and he was the writer for a pro-Young Turks newspaper that helped in increasing the group's popularity. The Armenian Revolutionary Federation blamed him for inciting violence against Armenians during the 1915 Armenian Genocide, so they put him on their hit list. Koca moved to Copenhagen, Denmark after World War I and sought to open his own newspaper in Danish, which he could speak conversationally. However, he wrote his last article on 2 February 1921 when he was shot down by Hrayr Kezerian's team of assassins outside of his apartment.
