Olof Bjornsson

Olof Bjornsson (920-980) was Jarl of Narke from 970 to 980 and King of Sweden from 970 to 980, succeeding Emund Eriksson and preceding Eric the Victorious.

Biography[]

Olof Bjornsson was born in 920, the son of King Bjorn Eriksson of Sweden and the brother of Ring of Sweden and Erik the Victorious. After their father's death in 932, the brothers divided his kingdom between them, and he fathered Styrbjorn the Strong and Gyrid of Sweden. He became King in 970, and he was poisoned during a meal in 980.
