
Olivier Charles Armand Adrien Mazel (16 September 1858-10 March 1940) was a French Army general during World War I.
Biography[]
Olivier Mazel was born in Rennes, Ille-et-Vilaine, France in 1858, and he graduated from Saint-Cyr in 1878 and rose in the ranks of the French Army. Mazel commanded the French 1st Army in March 1916 and the French 5th Army from March 1916 to May 1917 during World War I, and he was sacked after the failed Chemin des Dames offensive in 1917. He retired in 1920 and died in 1940.
