Oliver Hillhouse Prince (1787-9 October 1837) was a US Senator from Georgia (D) from 7 November 1828 to 4 March 1829, succeeding Thomas W. Cobb and preceding George Troup.
Biography[]
Oliver Hillhouse Prince was born in Montville, Connecticut in 1787, and he moved with his parents to Washington, Wilkes County, Georgia in 1796. He was admitted to the bar in 1806 and began his law practice in Macon, and he wrote a digest of Georgia law. He was elected to the State Senate in 1824, and the state legislature elected him to the US Senate in 1828, serving out the rest of Thomas W. Cobb's term. He made way for George Troup in 1829, and he died in 1837.
