Oliver Boehmer

Oliver Boehmer (died June 1775) was a mercenary from Hesse-Kassel who served under Colonel Sven Kuechler in North America as his first right-hand man.

Biography[]

Oliver Boehmer was born in Kaiserslautern, Bavaria, and he decided to join the Hessians in North America as a mercenary, serving in Sven Kuechler's regiment at the start of the American Revolutionary War. He took part in the Oneida Expedition against the Oneida tribe, which had allied with the patriots, and he delivered some of the captured Native Americans to Colonel Kuechler. However, Boehmer was killed when Nathaniel Black and his militia assaulted the Hessian base and freed the captured natives.
