Oleksandr Mykolayovych Rzhavskyy (30 January 1959 – 27 March 2022) was a Ukrainian pro-Russian politician who served in the Verkhovna Rada from 1998 to 2002. He was ironically killed by the Russian Army during the Bucha massacre in 2022.
Biography[]
Oleksandr Mykolayovych Rzhavskyy was born in Kramatorsk, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union on 30 January 1959. He worked on a fishing trawler before being drafted into the Soviet Army and entering banking following the Dissolution of the Soviet Union. In 1997, he founded the All-Ukrainian Political Association "One Family" and was elected to the Verkhovna Rada a year later, serving for four years. He was an unsuccessful presidential candidate in 2004, campaigning as a pro-Russian candidate. Ironically, he was killed by Russian Army soldiers at his home during the Bucha massacre in 2022.
