Odo IV of Burgundy (1295-3 April 1350) was the Duke of Burgundy from 1315 to 1350, succeeding Hugh V of Burgundy and preceding Philip I of Burgundy.
Biography[]
Odo was the son of Robert II of Burgundy, and he succeeded his brother Hugh V of Burgundy upon his death in 1315. In 1316 he became the titular king of Thessalonica after the death of his brother Louis of Burgundy, but in 1320 he sold these claims to Duke Louis I of Bourbon. From 1337 until his death he was a key player in the Hundred Years' War, choosing to side with Philip VI of France against Edward III of England. He was an adviser to Charles of Blois during the War of the Breton Succession, fighting against Jean IV of Brittany's English-backed forces. He died in 1350.
