Odawa

The Odawa, also known as the Ottawa, are a Native American tribe in the United States and Canada. The tribe migrated to Ontario from the Atlantic Ocean coastline in ancient times, and the tribe expanded to the Midwest during the 17th century. In 1795, the US government forced the Odawa to give up their lands in the Northwest Territory, and the Odawa were moved from their reservations at Blanchard's Creek and Little Auglaize River in Ohio to the Indian Territory under the Indian Removal Act in 1830. Today, there are around 15,000 Odawa tribesmen in both the USA and Canada.
