
Octa of Kent (480-540) was the Duke of Kent from 516 to 540, succeeding Oisc of Kent and preceding Eormenric of Kent.
Biography[]
Octa of Kent was born in 480, the son of Oisc of Kent and the grandson of Hengest of Kent. He was a pagan, descended from the Jutes. Octa raided Scotland with Ebusa on Hengist's orders, and in 516 he succeeded Oisc as the Duke of Kent. He reigned until his death in 540, and Eormenric of Kent succeeded him.
