Observer Highway

The Observer Highway is a road that leads from Jersey City Heights, Jersey City to Hoboken, in the US state of New Jersey. In the 19th century, the road, originally known as "Ferry Street", was built atop several swamps and creeks in the western part of Hoboken (near the steep hill to Jersey City), and there was a visible bump in the road where the hill began. The two portions of Ferry Street were not well-joined, and decades of cobblestone and tar pavement revealed the two section's connecting point.
