Nyx the Shadow (died 429 BC) was a member of the Cult of Kosmos and the Sage of its "Eyes of Kosmos" branch. She was assassinated in Athens in 429 BC.
Biography[]
The Eyes saw all, but were led by a woman few had ever seen. As one would expect, "Nyx" was only one of countless names worn by The Shadow. With this came entire personalities, lives, and histories. The Cult needed a nobody, a faceless agent who could be anywhere, and The Shadow was that agent.
In 429 BC, the Spartan mercenary Kassandra - the Cult's arch-nemesis - discovered Nyx's identity from a clue pried off the body of "the Master" in Lavrio, and she tracked her down to Athens. She found Nyx walking by herself behind the Theater of Dionysus on the city's south side, and she ambushed her with her spear fragment. The two then engaged in an intense fight, with Nyx using her deadly daggers against Kassandra. However, Kassandra ultimately gained the upper hand and subdued Nyx before finishing her off with a fatal stab to the abdomen. Nyx's death ended the Eyes of Kosmos, and Kassandra gained a clue as to the Ghost of Kosmos' identity, discovering that they were very influential in Athenian politics.
