Northamptonshire is a county in the East Midlands of England, bordering Warwickshire to the west, Leicestershire and Rutland to the north, Cambridgeshire to the east, Bedfordshire to the southeast, Buckinghamshire to the south, Oxfordshire to the southwest, and Lincolnshire to the northeast. The county town was Northampton, while other major settlements included Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Rushden, and Daventry, and Northamptonshire had a population of 733,100 in 2016.
