North Ironbound is a section of The Ironbound district of Newark, New Jersey. Its median household income was greater than that of the city as a whole, but its rent was almost the same. In contrast to South Ironbound, the Hispanic and white populations made up a similar percentage of the population. North Ironbound had significant Portuguese and Brazilian communities, evidenced by its abundance of Brazilian restaurants and Portuguese bakeries. In 2016, North Ironbound had a population of 42,177 people.
