The North Dakota Democratic-Nonpartisan League Party (Democratic-NPL) is the North Dakota affiliate of the Democratic Party of the United States. The party was formed as a merger of the Democratic Party and the social democratic Nonpartisan League, with the conservative "Capitol Crowd" (supporters of the anti-farmers' union, anti-labor, and pro-Republican Party faction) old guard splitting off from the NPL to join the Republicans, and the liberal "insurgents" joining the Democrats. The NPL was a minor party as of 2018, holding 9/47 State Senate and 13/94 State House seats.
