The Norteños ("Northerners") are the Mexican gangs of northern California, originating with the firmly-established Salinas Valley communities of Mexicans, unlike their rival Sureños (who were descended from recent immigrants). The northern Mexicans were typically allied with Nuestra Familia, the Bloods, the Black Guerrilla Family, and the Latin Kings, while they were enemies of the southerners, Mexican Mafia, Fresno Bulldogs, MS-13, Nazi Lowriders, and the Aryan Brotherhood.
