Norihide Matsuda

Norihide Matsuda (1530-17 July 1590) was one of Ujimasa Hojo's chief retainers. The son and heir of Yorihide Matsuda, he served under both Ujiyasu Hojo and Ujimasa, and he bravely attempted to stop Shingen Takeda's retreat at the Battle of Mimase Pass in 1569. During the Fall of Odawara in 1590, he had communications with Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and his plot was uncovered by the Hojo, leading to his arrest. Following the city's fall, Norihide, Ujimasa, and Masashige Daidoji were forced to commit seppuku.
