Niyaz Makham (1992-) was an Afghan-Uzbek Junbish-i-Milli politician who served as the party's leader in the Wolesi Jirga from 2018.
Biography[]
Niyaz Makham was born in Mazar-i-Sharif, Balkh Province, Afghanistan in 1992 to a Sunni Uzbek family. He fought alongside Junbish-i-Milli during the Afghanistan War, later entering politics by running for the Wolesi Jirga in 2018. Junbish won 111.38% of the vote and 4/35 seats in the House of the People, and Makham served as the party's parliamentary leader. He supported Malyar Lakhani and his National Front in the ensuing presidential election.
