The Nile Delta is the delta formed in northern Egypt where the Nile River spreads out and drains into the Mediterranean Sea. The region covered 150 miles of Mediterranean coastline from Alexandria in the west to Port Said in the east, and it was a rich agricultural region. The region was home to cities such as Alexandria, Shubra al-Khaymah, Port Said, Mahalla al-Kubra, Mansoura, Tanta, and Zagazig. 39,000,000 people live in the Delta region.
