Nikios (died 429 BC) was a Messaran adventurer during the 5th century BC. The father of Ardos, he came to be of great renown on Crete, and, in 429 BC, he, the "Swordfish of Octopus Bay", and "The Collector", among others, attempted to navigate their way through the Labyrinth of Lost Souls beneath the Palace of Knossos to steal the Minotaur's treasure. However, they were no match for the Minotaur, and Swordfish and the Collector abandoned their comrades to their fates; Nikios was gored to death after running into a dead end. His son Ardos convinced the mercenary Kassandra to help search for his father, but she ultimately found his body; she took his ring back to Ardos to console him.
