Biography[]
Nicolo "Nick" Rizzuto Jr. was born in Montreal, Canada on 4 December 1967, the oldest son of Vito Rizzuto and GIovanna Cammalleri. He became involved in the real estate industry at his father's behest, and his business was mostly legitimate, although it was done in the name of the Rizzuto crime family. In 2004, the Rizzuto family was weakened when Vito Rizzuto was imprisoned, and the Rizzuto family's enemies jumped at the opportunity to seize control of the city's criminal underworld. Nick Rizzuto, who had always wanted to be treated the same as his father's close advisor Declan Gardiner, expressed his desire to become the new boss, against his family's wishes. He proclaimed himself boss of the family and ordered the killings of two men for not taking him seriously, and he also arrogantly refused to agree to a real estate deal that his father had prepared terms for; Gardiner, the acting boss, responded by closing the deal successfully and working behind Rizzuto's back. Rizzuto grew angry at Gardiner for going against his authority, and he stormed out of his house without his bodyguards and drove off, only to be critically wounded in a drive-by shooting at a red light. Rizzuto was brought to the hospital and survived, and he agreed to return to his normal life and allow for Gardiner to become the acting boss. Although Rizzuto became less involved in the family business, he was still targeted by the family's enemies due to his relationship to the family's imprisoned boss. On 28 December 2009, Rizzuto was shot six times and killed near his car while walking his dog through in Notre-Dame-de-Grace, Montreal.
