Nicolas Diaz

Nicolas Diaz (10 August 1929-18 October 2019) was a Christian Democratic Party of Chile senator from 1990 to 1998.

Biography[]

Nicolas Diaz was born in Rancagua, Chile on 10 August 1929, and he worked as a surgeon before joining the Christian Democratic Party of Chile and serving as Mayor of Rancagua from 1963 to 1964 and from 1967 to 1968. He opposed the military regime and voted against an eight-year extension to Augusto Pinochet's rule in 1988, and he went on to serve as a Senator for the Bernardo O'Higgins Region from 1990 to 1998 and a Rancagua councillor from 2004 to 2008. He died in 2019.
