Nick Salazar (18 April 1929-23 October 2020) was a Democratic member of the New Mexico House of Representatives from the 40th district from 1 January 1974 to 1 January 2019, preceding Joseph L. Sanchez.
Biography[]
Nick L. Salazar was born in San Juan Pueblo, New Mexico in 1929 to a Pueblo Native American family, and he served as a US Air Force sergeant before serving as county commissioner from 1964 to 1968. He went on to serve in the State House from 1974 to 2019 as a Democrat, residing in Ohkay Owingeh. He retired in 2019 and died in 2020 at the age of 91.
