Nick Ogata

Nick Ogata was a Japanese entrepreneur based out of Tokyo. In 2019, he served as the prime financial backer for Ichiban Kasuga's Ichiban Confectionery and Ichiban Holdings business ventures and also helped him bring down corrupt Tokyo governor Ryo Aoki.

Biography[]

Nick Ogata was born in Tokyo, Japan, and he became an international venture capitalist, learning English in addition to his native Japanese. He befriended Tojo-kai chairman Daigo Dojima due to shared business interests and granted shelter to him, Goro Majima, and Taiga Saejima during Governor Ryo Aoki's 2017 crackdown on organized crime as part of the Kabukicho 3K Plan. In 2019, he made the acquaintance of ex-yakuza Ichiban Kasuga after Kasuga defended him from angered clients, and he taught Kasuga how to use a cell phone. The two became fast friends, and Ogata readily agreed to give generous loans to Ichiban Confections, which Kasuga was helping Eri Kamataki to manage. Ogata also helped Kasuga with his crusade against Governor Aoki, hiding him and his party at the Earth Angel bar. At the LDP's election press conference, Ogata hacked the display as Governor Aoki speak, sharing a fake criminal charge and arrest warrant for the Governor before loudly questioning Aoki about his true identity and his yakuza ties. Aoki, sent into a panic, would head to the Millennium Tower, where Kasuga had previously indicated that an incriminating video of Aoki was stored. There, Kasuga entrapped Aoki into confessing his misdeeds, leading to actual criminal charges being pressed. Aoki was murdered by his disillusioned supporter Sota Kume before he could turn himself in.
