Nicholas Frederick Brady (11 April 1930-) was a US Senator from New Jersey (R) from 12 April to 27 December 1982, succeeding Harrison A. Williams and preceding Frank Lautenberg, and the US Secretary of the Treasury from 15 September 1988 to 17 January 1993, succeeding James Baker and preceding Lloyd Bentsen.

Biography[]

Nicholas Frederick Brady was born in Manhattan, New York City in 1930, and he grew up in Far Hills, Somerset County, New Jersey. He worked in the banking business before Governor Thomas Kean appointed him as a US Senator in 1982, filling the vacancy caused by the resignation of Harrison A. Williams. He served until Frank Lautenberg was elected to replace Williams, and he went on to serve as Secretary of the Treasury from 1988 to 1993, serving under President George H.W. Bush.
