The Nez Perce are a tribe of Native Americans that inhabit the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Native to Idaho, the Nez Perce fought against the US Army in 1877 when Chief Joseph attempted to move the tribe from their Idaho reservation to Canada, and the tribe was defeated at the Battle of Bear Paw and forced to return to the reservation. Today, 3,499 Nez Perce live in Idaho.
