The Newseum is an interactive museum in Washington DC which is located on 555 Pennsylvania Avneue. Established on 18 April 1997, it traced the evolution of communication and promoted free expression and the First Amendment to the US Constitution, which guaranteed freedom of speech. In January 2019, Johns Hopkins University purchased the building for $372.5 million in order to use the space for several graduate programs, as the museum had undergone financial losses despite high admission fees.
