The New Juarez Cartel is a Mexican drug cartel based in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. It was founded in 2011 as the successor to the original Juarez Cartel, and it was led by Amado Carrillo Fuentes' son Cesar Carrillo Leyva, who revived the extinct cartel and controlled one of the primary cross-border drug trafficking routes into the United States. New Juarez Cartel leader Juan Pablo Ledezma ended his cartel's alliance with the Sinaloa Cartel and allied with the Tijuana Cartel, Los Zetas, and the Beltran Leyva Cartel against Sinaloa, the Gulf Cartel, and La Familia Michoacana. By 2020, the New Juarez Cartel's La Linea armed wing had become the most powerful gang in the city. The New Juarez Cartel was allied wit hthe Beltran Leyva Cartel, Barrio Azteca, Los Zetas, and the Tijuana Cartel, while it was rivals with the Sinaloa Cartel, MS-13, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, Gente Nueva, the Knights Templar Cartel, the Gulf Cartel, and La Familia Michoacana.
