Nevada is a state in the American West region of the United States, with Carson City being the capital and Las Vegas being the largest city. Much of the state is desert, and the population tends to be centered around the cities of the state. The state was acquired by the USA after the Mexican-American War, and the Gold Rush led to settlers flooding into Nevada to search for gold and make a living.
