The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is a nationalist political party in India, founded on 25 May 1999. The party split from the Indian National Congress after its leader Sharad Pawar was expelled from the INC due to disputing the legitimacy of the Italian Sonia Gandhi's leadership of the INC party. The party supported Indian nationalism, socialism, social justice, and secularism, and it became a minor party in the country.
