The National World War I Memorial is a national memorial commemorating the service of the United States armed forces in World War I, located at Pershing Park in Washington DC. The memorial was built from 2015 to 2021 (expanding on the presence of a 1981 statue commemorating General John J. Pershing), with a groundbreaking on 9 November 2017, an opening on 16 April 2021, and an installation of statues slated to be completed by 2024.
