The National Democratic Rally is an alliance of secularist, pan-Arabist, Arab nationalist, and socialist opposition parties in the Syrian Arab Republic that was founded in 1980. The NDR opposed the authoritarian rule of the Syrian Ba'ath Party, and it consisted of the Democratic Arab Socialist Union, the Syrian Democratic People's Party, the Arab Revolutionary Workers Party, the Arab Socialist Movement, the Democratic Socialist Arab Ba'ath Party, and the Communist Labor Party of Syria. The alliance was banned by the Ba'athist government.
