The National Committee of Asian American Republicans (Asian.GOP) is a political organization that seeks to "introduce, explain, and promulgate the Republican values and principles that are similar to those of Asians (merit, hard work, self-responsibility, family values, etc.)", according to its website . The committee's viewpoints included admitting students to college based solely on merit instead of taking minority quotas, activities aside from scholarships, "leadership", and other non-educational factors into consideration, as well as preserving traditional family values and opposing illegal immigration. Secretary of Labor and Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao played a leading role in the committee as one of its loudest voices, and its staffers included Cliff Zhonggang Li, Juan Carlos Benitez, Tim Koch, Benming Zhang, Shu Xuan, and Xudan Zhou.
