The National Christian Party (Partidul Național Creștin) (PNC) was a far right authoritarian nationalist and anti-Semitic group in Romania founded by A. C. Cuza and Octavian Goga. It was active from 1935 to 1938. During those years, it had a paramilitary branch called the Lancieri, which it inherited from the National-Christian Defense League. Just like its previous incarnation, it was known for launching attacks on Jews and rival political parties such as the Iron Guard. In the 1937 election, it only won a small percentage of the votes, but King Carol II brought them into power, with the hopes of giving the people "a taste of fascism". By giving them "a taste of fascism", he hoped that would dissuade them from supporting the Iron Guard. It briefly held power from 1937 to 1938 after being appointed into power by Carol II. It was later removed from power after it attempted to form an alliance with its rivals the Iron Guard. Carol II then formed his own personal dictatorship, called the Royal Dictatorship after removing them from power.
