The National Alliance (NA) is a far-right political party in Latvia that was founded on 23 July 2011. The party was founded as an electoral alliance in 2010, and it unified the nationalist parties of Latvia into one right-wing party. The party supported the Latvianization of the bilingual education system, to limit the residence permit trading program, to increase state support of family values and the demography program, to make national identity, Latvian language, and culture as a priority, to open the natural gas market in order to end the Gazprom monopoly on the energy market, and to veto any bills that would weaken the positions of the Latvian language. The party entered the government in 2011 as a part of a coalition-government, taking part in the government for much of the 2010s.
