Nathaniel Mitchell (1753-21 February 1814) was the Federalist Governor of Delaware from 15 January 1805 to 19 January 1808, succeeding David Hall and preceding George Truitt.

Biography[]

Nathaniel Mitchell was born in Laurel, Delaware in 1753, and he founded Georgetown, Delaware before serving as an officer in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He served in the Continental Congress from 1786 to 1788, as Protonotary for Sussex County, and as Governor from 1805 to 1808, and he died in 1814.
