
Nathaniel Claiborne (14 November 1777-15 August 1859) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-VA 7) from 4 March 1825 to 3 March 1837, succeeding Jabez Leftwich and preceding Archibald Stuart. Born in Chesterfield, he practiced law in Lee County and Franklin County before serving as a state delegate and in Congress. Initially a Jacksonian, he became a National Republican in 1827.
