
Nathaniel Bradstreet Shurtleff (22 June 1810-17 October 1874) was the Democratic Mayor of Boston from 6 January 1868 to 2 January 1871, succeeding Otis Norcross and preceding William Gaston.
Biography[]
Nathaniel Bradstreet Shurtleff was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1810, and he served on the American Antiquarian Society's board of councilors from 1853 to 1874. He was the unsuccessful Know Nothing candidate for mayor in 1855 and the failed Democratic candidate for mayor in 1865 and 1866, but he served as Mayor from 1868 to 1871. He died in 1874.
