Naseem al-Ghani

Naseem al-Ghani (1772-late August 1798) was a leader of the 1798 Cairo Revolt. Born in Cairo, Egypt, al-Ghani was radicalized by a Sunni imam at his mosque during the Egyptian Campaign of the French Revolutionary Wars, and he emerged as a leader of the anti-French uprising. al-Ghani was killed when the military crushed the uprising.
