Biography[]
Nakagawa Yukitoki was born in 1827 in Nagato Province of southern Honshu (an island of Japan) to the Nakagawa clan of the Oka Domain. He was an aggressor, and took over much of southern Honshu and northern Kyushu for his clan, adding multiple provinces for the pro-Tokugawa Shogunate clan during the Boshin War. In 1864 his clan went to war with the Satsuma Domain when they conquered Bungo Province from the Oka.
