Naif Abu-Sharah

Naif Abu-Sharah (1966-29 June 2004) was the commander of the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade in Nablus, West Bank, loyal to Fatah.

Biography[]

Naif Abu-Sharah was born in 1966 in Nablus, Palestine. He became the leader of the Fatah-linked al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade militant group, which was very active during the 2000 Second Intifada. Abu Sharah escaped many arrests and sent suicide bombers, funded by Hezbollah, on missions against Israeli civilians. One of the key players in the Tanzim terrorist infrastructure, he was targeted by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) in the old city of Nablus after he led a 2003 suicide attack that killed 23 Israeli civilians. He was killed in the operation along with two other Palestinian militants.
