Ignacio "Nacho" Contreras (died 1984) was a Mexican drug lord who led the Contreras Cartel of Miami during the 1980s. In 1984, he was killed during a gang war with Tony Montana in the Bahamas.
Biography[]
Ignacio Contreras was born in Mexico, and he became a wealthy businessman through the cocaine trade. Contreras later took his operation to Miami, becoming the richest person in the city by 1980 due to his involvement in the drug trade and due to his greed. In 1983, following Tony Montana's disappearance, Contreras took over Downtown Miami, and he was also involved with illegal casino gambling and human trafficking in the Bahamas. In early 1984, Montana returned to power through eliminating the Diaz Brothers, taking over Little Havana. He then began to muscle in on Downtown Miami, and he also travelled to the Bahamas to assist The Sandman with eliminating his local rivals. There, Montana discovered Contreras' cargo ship casino at Black Sands, and he stormed the ship and wounded Contreras. A bleeding Contreras attempted to swim to safety, but he was eaten by the shark before he could safely escape.
