Myrrhine

Myrrhine was an Ancient Greek woman from Athens who participated in Lysistrata's sex strike in 411 BC, resulting in a temporary end to the Peloponnesian War. During the strike, she - one of Lysistrata's chief lieutenants during the occupation of the Acropolis of Athens - tortured her husband Kinesias by promising him sex if he agreed to end the war, only to delay their engagement by setting out a bed, mattress, pillow, blanket, and oil, and then promptly locking herself back in the Acropolis, nearly driving Kinesias mad. This incident helped to worsen the Athenian men's desire for their wives, hastening the conclusion of a peace treaty which temporarily ended the war.
